From the time you walk through the doors, you know that you are in for
a different type of dining experience. When owners Chris and Katherine
Bradshaw opened the first The Blue Plate restaurant on November 9, 2004,
they decided to offer a menu with a variety wide enough to satisfy any
sized appetite, tastefully prepared in the true Southern Tradition.
After 11 years of co-owning eating establishments in Tuscaloosa and Montgomery,
Chris, Katherine and their 3 children, decided to return to their hometown of
Dothan to do what they do best…bring family and friends together around
the table to enjoy food and hospitality found only in the south.
The spirited atmosphere offers diners a chance to unwind. Servers are prompt
and food is plentiful. The warm mustard and red walls are adorned with nostalgic
black and white posters of such celebrity icons as Audrey Hepburn, Elvis Presley
and Ronald Reagan. It evokes a modern, laid-back atmosphere that is both sophisticated
and casual.
It is nice to know that with today’s fast-paced and busy lifestyle, there
is a place where families can gather around the table, catch up with each other
and friends, while enjoying great southern cooking. Whether dining in or taking
advantage of the take-out menu, The Blue Plate is sure to provide a memorable
dining experience.
Thank you to our customers who have been gracious and in supporting
us. We look forward to seeing and serving you at our new location on
the south side of town on Ross Clark Circle contected to Sports Outfitters.
